Event: Little Brother at The Loft Tonight!

Ya”ll already know how its going down at The Loft tonight.  North Carolina’s finest and two of the truest, most honest, real talk emcees in the game today.  Little Brother will be making at in-store appearance at Dig Lifestyles today at 5pm with yours truly on the wheels for the event.  Make sure you’re in the place to be to slap hands and conversate with Phonte and Big Pooh.  Holla at ya folks!

Kid Cudi at Doraku Sushi This Saturday

Our peoples KnowxOne and Dig Lifestyles have got a very special treat for you this weekend as they’re bringing in Kid Cudi to Doraku Sushi at the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center this Saturday night.  Also, there is a very special guest appearance set to be made by someone that you will not want to miss.  I’m not at liberty to name drop but trust me when I say that you’ll kick yourself if you’re not there.  Best believe that HNL Hip Hop will be in the building so make sure you swing through and say peace.  I’ll try to drop some Kid Cudi joints on here to you before tomorrow night so you can get familiar (c) Clinton Sparks.

Japanese Break Digger DJ Muro to Play Stussy Party at Next Door in Chinatown on the 21st

One of the things that I’ll never get over about parties in Honolulu is how I more often than not find out about them in the national press instead of locally. Front not, the world is fascinated with our island and when good things happen here the world takes notice. Case in point: original street wear brand Stussy is throwing an event at Next Door in Chinatown on the 21st of this month and I read about it tonight on HypeBeast and KicksOnFire…go figure. Not only that, but Japan’s own DJ Muro will be spinning. Only owning one DJ Muro mixtape I decided to do some investigative work to find out more. I was lucky enough to stumble upon the the following which I gladly pass along to you:

So how good can the mix be if it’s 12 years old, right? DAMN GOOD. This guy gives a whirlwind tour of classic breaks (all original vinyl by the way – remember that this way predates Serato) that is guranteed to trip out beat heads and Hip Hop lovers alike. Not to mention that this cat is pretty nice on the wheels. And this was 12 years ago. I can only imagine what this upcoming performance will be like.

Make sure you stay tuned to HNL Hip Hop because we’ll be sure to have more details as more about this event is learned. But for Hip Hop heads that love the art of production and turntablism this looks to be a must attend event.

10th Annual Backpacks and Knapsacks Dance Concert Today and Tomorrow

Hypersquad and Step N Up Hawaii present three different showings this weekend at Pearl City High School. Tickets are $13 and $15 at the door. Make sure you check these folks out. For a taste of what’s in store check the video after the jump.
