Damn…my homies at Fitted are DOING it.  Fam always has the illest fitted hats on island and their new releases regularly make it on to the blog for hat collectors…but this is next level.  Fitted has taken over the site today with a new post every two hours (I have no idea how many there will be).  Some feature upcoming releases (start saving your duckets by the way because Fitted has got some HEAT coming before the year’s end) and others feature artists and core representatives of the Islands.  I’ve said it dozens of times in this space but allow me to reiterate, we have a GEM in Fitted here on Oahu and it would do everyone well to recognize the resource and solid representative role they play for all of us.  Check out their StrictlyFitteds.com takeover by clicking here.

Gear: Swagger x D.I.T.C. x New Era Fitted

If you’re over the age of 25 and don’t know the significance of  D.I.T.C. then might I suggest you go play in traffic.  If you’re a tad bit younger and need a quick history lesson do your homework here.  Swagger is a Japanese streetwear label and they will be releasing this, along with T-Shirts, that will be available later this month at their Tokyo flagship store.  They also take online orders at choiceisyours.jp

Gear: Hall of the Fame x The Hundreds Flip Side Collection

Hall of Fame and The Hundreds have teamed up to produce the Flip Side Collection.  It will be dropping tomorrow at Hall of Fame LA store and The Hundreds San Francisco store.  Personally, I’ve always been reallly really liked the adam bomb design and have a habit of posting something about any time that they do something with it.  Guilty as charged…more pics after the jump.

Video: Nike x New Era Fitted Hat Release

YEAH man…YEAH man.  I can’t even begin to tell you how stupid hype I was about this.  Nike and New Era get together for their first colab and its exactly what it needs to be; clean and classic.  Just like the uptown logo that the cap sports so proudly.  We all know DJ Clark Kent as the Air Force 1 king and here he explains why this is SO monumental.  I’m already tying to figure out how to get to New York on August 22nd to get this…doubtful it’ll happen…but ya mans can dream can I not?  And I got a gang of photos of the different colorways after the jump.

Stussy Honolulu x New Era Fitted

First they serve as one of the pioneers of street wear, then they bring DJ Muro to Next Door, now they drop this new fitted…in that order.  No word on when this will drop but this is a must have .  One more pic after the jump of the lining which is not to be slept on.

What Happened to Bape?!?

Word is bond fam…I’m only posting this to vent a little bit.  Aside from the fact that A Bathing Ape was Nigo’s way of getting ridiculously rich by making damn near replicas of Air Force 1’s the colorways and patent leather was a huge hit in the States from the time the first shop opened in NY in 2005.  Ironically, A Bathing Ape (Nigo’s statement about street fashion and our own lack of creativity) exploded with huge popularity (therefore making his success the fashion equivalent of Spike Lee’s Bamboozled) because despite the intended statement the mixture of those insane colorways and patent leather were simply too much to resist.  Maybe the new Bape products are also a statement on how dull things are getting right now (honestly folks, plaid?) or maybe it’s just a well disguised facade for getting rich by being trendy.  Whatever the case may be…Bape is getting EXTREMELY boring.  Remember how much you wanted those Bape zip up hoodies in the crazy colored camo?  Maybe I just hate to see a cultural phenomenon such as A Bathing Ape go to waste but someone needs to have an intervention with Nigo and tell him that not only are the Trackstas above not any good but that he needs to step his game back up.  Geez….can we at least get the A1 lookalikes back?
