Gear: Swagger x D.I.T.C. x New Era Fitted

If you’re over the age of 25 and don’t know the significance of  D.I.T.C. then might I suggest you go play in traffic.  If you’re a tad bit younger and need a quick history lesson do your homework here.  Swagger is a Japanese streetwear label and they will be releasing this, along with T-Shirts, that will be available later this month at their Tokyo flagship store.  They also take online orders at choiceisyours.jp

Sneakers: Custom Obama Air Force 1s

I know it might seem like this blog seems like it’s turning into Obama mania but the amount of Hip Hop related Obama material is too rich right now not to bring to you.  This is unlike anything I’ve ever seen.  This pair of Uptowns was spotted on Daddy Yankee Fat Joe.  And check for the pic of Will.I.Am sporting a pair in English after the jump.

Video: Red Cafe – Paper Touchin’ ft Jada, Joey Crack, and Fabo

Vodpod videos no longer available.

I’m not too big on this hook but Jada and Cafe go for theirs on this with Joe and Fab acting as pretty decent backup singers fellow colabs.  Jada said “I’ma youtube your funeral.”  Giat damn I can’t wait for his new LP.  Hip Hop is alive and well folks, trust that.

Videos: Throwback Sunday Vol 11.

Welcome back to another edition of Throwback Sunday.  For my fans of grimy early to mid 90’s Hip Hop then the above pic will surely mean something to you.  Maybe you didn’t have the Alife tribute edition Timbs, but more than likely you had a pair.  Even living down South I had some and you can bet that I didn’t get them anywhere close to a construction site.  From Mobb Deep, to the Wu-Tang Clan, to DITC, to Gang Starr it seemed like if you were reppin’ NY in that era than these were a must for your feet in the wintertime.  And though the sky is blue and we’re far from the salty iced streets that are the mainland winters (especially in June) I want to take us back to that era today.  Sit back and enjoy because we do this for the love.

Throwback Sunday: Vol 9

Throwback Sundays continues to be one of my favorite postings to do.  Every Sunday I sit down and think about videos from at least 10 years back that I haven’t watched in a minute but would really want to see.  But this isn’t just about what we want to see.  It’s about what you want to see as well.  If you’ve got some requests that would like to see featured you know where we stay…so holla at ya people.  Hit us up at hnlhiphop@gmail.com.    And with that…nostalgia after the jump.

Video: Weezy & Yeezy – Lollipop Remix Live at Summer Jam

As you probably know Hot 97 held their annual Summer Jam last night and the mayor was in the building catching some footage. Word is bond, I’ve given this remix hella play since it came out and I love the hell out of it. LOL at Kanye bringin’ his LV suitcase on stage. Hilarious…

More video featuring Miss Info, D-Block, Fat Joe, and Kayne after the jump.

Video: Papoose – A Fair One

Papoose is trying to milk every bit of publicity he can get. Dude is hungry. This one is a Joey Crack diss and the King Hippo clips has me rolling. Papoose needs to focus more on good music rather than publicity stunts though. But I like this cat.
